Crave King Mediterranean Food: Reviews & Ratings

We had the Shish Shrimp over rice and the Mushakal with bread (naan), family-style, eating-in at this restaurant. Restaurant is modest, small, rustic and clean. Food and service were good: food served piping hot, spiced authentically, portions big enough to share (for instance, individual separate orders of starters, like salads or soups then share the entree). Would visit again.

What a place!!! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is amazing!!! We had the slow roasted Lamb Haneeth, with mixed vegetables and rice. The Chicken Gallaba was served with rice, onions and tomatoes. Both dishes were freshly made, beautifully spiced and the meat just fell right off the bone. The portions were huge. The free tea is delicious and nicely spiced. After 4 cups I was too embarrassed to go back for more! Service was quick and with a smile. Bathroom was clean. Free parking is available outside.

Very good, we had the Lamb Ghallaba Over Rice and Lamb Kufta Over Rice. Both extremely flavorful dishes. We’ve been here twice and it’s always been a great experience, from the quality of food to the customer service. We’ll surely be back.

The food was excellent. I'm so glad we have some authentic Middle Eastern food here in the Southtowns. I tried 6 dishes, all were excellent. Price, taste and quantity all very good. The foul (ful?) was great with handmade fresh bread. There was a long wait as the chef was busy doing everything, so be prepared for that. It's still worth it. I'm going back there.

If you want real Iraqi food just go and ask for grilled fish. It's amazing. it very simple from inside and restroom needs to be cared of. But who cares the food was delicious and more than enough. The cooker and the other man were so nice and welcoming. Just go and try the fresh baked bread. Waaaaw.

Incredible food. Chicken shawarma was top of the line. Insanely good, coworker and I were heavily impressed. Would eat again, would recommend to a friend. And the tea was also very tasty.

I've been here twice now. The first time I ordered shawarma, and the second foul. Their shawarma was unique compared to other places I've had it, I suspect the people comparing it to ranch might be mistaking the possible vinegar and anise (or baharat mix) that is used in some regional versions of shawarma, because those were two flavors I picked up on right away. I'm not the biggest vinegar fan, but when I get Chai, I actually look for chai with a stronger anise flavor in it. This was the first place I have had foul, and it was amazing. I don't quite know what to compare it to for an American palette, but it was good both with the naan and to just eat by itself after I'd finished the naan. The inside was decorated with very pretty fake flowers. They were nicer than a lot of other silk print flowers I've seen for my own projects, and added life to a small sit down that typically would feel dull for the size of Crave King. It is small, but the booths are comfortable and looked well maintained. There was a language barrier, but the person working there had no problem using a translator so that we could effectively communicate, and neither did I. I know just enough Arabic to say thank you, and wish someone a happy Ramadan, and he knew much more English than I do Arabic. Thanks to modern technology, we were able to have a very lovely conversation, something that is very important to me when I am able to leave the house. I would suggest if you are an English speaker, to come in or order with a delivery app, so that communication will be a lot easier. I would definitely recommend this little restaurant if you are looking for something new, or want to try the many different versions of "Mediterranean Food". The items may have the same names, but each region will do it just differently from the other that it is worth trying it from different places. I look forward to coming back and seeing what other new recipes there are to try, and how ones I've already tried might be different here from other places I've tried here in Buffalo. Until next time :)
